Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before your next vet visit.

Does ClearPaw provide medical advice?

No. ClearPaw is a tool to help you understand and organize what your vet already told you. Every summary and answer is grounded in your actual vet documents — not generic internet advice. For any medical decisions, always follow up with your veterinarian.

How is this different from just taking notes?

Notes miss things — especially when you're stressed or your pet is anxious. ClearPaw lets you record the entire visit so nothing gets lost. The AI then pulls out the diagnosis, medications, care instructions, and follow-up dates automatically.

Do I need to tell my vet I'm recording?

Yes, and we encourage you to. Recording laws vary by state, and it's good practice to let your vet know. Most vets are fine with it — many appreciate that owners are being thorough.

What if I forgot to record the visit?

No problem. You can still upload photos of discharge paperwork, prescription labels, or any documents the clinic gave you. ClearPaw works with recordings and documents — or just one.

Is my pet's health data private?

Your records are only visible to you. We may use anonymized, de-identified data to improve our services and for research and development purposes. We never share or use any information that can be traced back to you or your pet.

Does ClearPaw give back?

Yes. 1% of every ClearPaw subscription goes directly to animal shelters and rescue organizations. Pets give us everything — we think it's only right to give something back.

What if the AI summary gets something wrong?

The AI works from your uploaded documents, but it can make mistakes. Always cross-reference the summary with your original paperwork, and contact your vet if anything seems off. ClearPaw is a support tool, not a replacement for professional judgment.

What animals does ClearPaw support?

Any pet — dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, reptiles. If your vet gives you documents, ClearPaw can help you make sense of them.

Is there a mobile app?

An iOS app is coming soon. In the meantime, ClearPaw works fully in your mobile browser — including audio recording.
